Privacy Policy
Last updated September 7, 2026This policy explains what JorMemo (jormemo.com) collects, why, and the choices you have. It describes what the service actually does — not a template — so you can decide what you are comfortable saving to it.
Information we collect
- Account information. Your email address, name, and username, plus a hashed form of your password. We never store your password as plain text.
- What you save. The sources you capture, the cards created from them, and the text of each source — so every card can be checked against the passage it came from. This also includes your decks, your review history, and your study preferences.
- Payment information. When you subscribe, payment is handled by our payment providers. We receive confirmation of a successful payment and which plan you are on; we never see or store your full card number.
- Technical information. A token that keeps you signed in, and the ordinary data your browser sends — such as your IP address and browser type — which we use to run and secure the service.
How we use your information
- To provide the service and keep your cards and decks in sync.
- To schedule reviews with spaced repetition, so a card returns the day before you would forget it.
- To send account email you need — address verification, payment receipts, and important notices about your account or the service.
- To respond when you contact us.
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
The AI agent and your content
When you use the AI agent — in the app, the browser extension, or a connected client such as Claude — the text you give it is sent to a large-language-model provider to turn a passage into cards. We send the passage and the instructions for making cards; we do not send the provider your account credentials or payment details.
Who we share data with
We do not sell your personal information. We share what is necessary with the providers that make the service work:
- Payment providers (LemonSqueezy and SePay) to process subscriptions and record which plan you hold.
- A large-language-model provider to power the agent that drafts cards from what you save.
- An email provider to deliver verification and account messages.
- A network proxy used only to fetch the captions of a YouTube link you ask us to capture.
- Our hosting provider, which stores the data that runs the service.
Cookies and advertising
We use a session token to keep you signed in. The public marketing site also loads Google AdSense, which may set its own advertising cookies in your browser; you can control ad personalization through your Google Ad Settings. The app itself, once you are signed in, does not show ads.
Keeping and deleting your data
You can view and edit your data inside the app, and export your cards at any time as JSON, CSV, or an Anki deck. To delete your account and the data attached to it, email us at [email protected] and we will remove it.
Security
Passwords are stored hashed, and traffic to the service travels over HTTPS. No method of storage or transmission over the internet is ever completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.
Children
JorMemo is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and change the date above.
